12manage is Hard to Find in Google
I stumbled across this site when googling a theorist for my MBA - why could I not find it earlier as it is an ace at getting information in a quick format without having to trail through the libraries.
I also like the conversation topics and hope to start some consultancy work later this year focusing on management coaching for the senior manager who has no-one else to turn to.

How you can help other people to find 12manage Hi Caroline, thanks for your compliments and for sharing your 'frustration' that you can't find 12manage easily (even if you are doing your MBA). Unfortunately we hear this remark quite often...
For some unknown reason when you look specifically for 'management' or 'business management' in Google, 12manage does not show up in their first 10 results.
I guess all these other web sites that are mentioned are more informative about management, haha ;-)
Seriously: we rely on our members to 'spread the word'. To do that:
- Create a link to 12manage.com on your web site or blog using the word 'management' in the link.
- Invite your peers and colleagues. We have a special invite function for this: log in and then click 'Home' in the top menu. At the left of your page you can invite friends, colleagues, fellow students to discover 12manage. Invite your entire MBA...

12manage. Com Doesn't Show Up in the Top 10 List in Google Search @Jaap de Jonge: Jaap: if you register the domain 12manage.com in the USA then it will show up well in Google search for all those searching for this kind of a site. So kindly register 12manage.com with some Internet Service Provider(ISP) in the US geography if you have a US office. It means you should find a domain name selling company in the United States and it costs you less than $100 a year.

12manage Hard to Find in Google @D.K.Satyanarayana: Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not an expert in this kind of things, but I believe it is Google's job to ensure people interested in our topics find us. Why would the country of the ISP where a domain is registered have any influence on a site's listings?

12manage Hard to Find in Google @Jaap de Jonge: Generally it depends on the usage of internet in the country.. There is a concept called Cache and DNS in internet transmission. Every Internet Service Provider in any country has a Domain Naming Service which stores the list of sites accessed by their customers in a cache(memory). In a large country like India or US the number of hits to a destination site may be more, while the hits in a smaller country like Netherlands are less. Once a site is accessed, the address is stored in the country level cache which is quickly obtained by the second customer once the first one is accessed during the day. As there are lot of users in these countries the chances of this website being hit is more. Generally all commercial websites are hosted in the US - if it is a British the sites ends in .uk and if it is an Indian site it ends in .in.
